INTEGRATION OF SENSES, ELEMENTS & HUMAN VALUES

EDUCARE TWO

Educare means to bring out Human Values. ‘To bring out’ means to translate them into action…Manifestation of the latent Human Values is known as Educare…“ Sai Baba

NATURE’S BALANCE

The mountains and rivers, the birds and beasts, which support one another, maintain Balance of the five elements in nature. For example, a tree gets its sustenance from the soil, rain, solar radiation and the air. In turn, the tree provides sustenance to millions of bacteria and microbes, birds and animals by providing fruits, fodder, oxygen, bark and roots.

Nature exhibits peace, harmony and beauty. The five elements in nature are in perfect balance.

Man is the supreme creation of God. Man has strong relationship with the five elements. These elements are both inside as well as outside Man. At all times we are exchanging these elements with the outside nature. For example, the food we eat and the water we drink, are partly assimilated by the body; the rest along with the body waste, is thrown out. Similarly, breathing air in and out, we exchange elements with nature.

Man as part of nature can be happy and peaceful only when he is in tune with nature. Baba has said,  “Man’s misadventures have created several problems for the entire mankind. He has polluted the five elements causing havoc on the earth. There is pollution everywhere – in air, water, food and so on. The water level under the surface of the earth is depleting because noble virtues like love and compassion have dried up in the human heart. The five elements are sore with the offensive conduct of man”.

  OUR 5 RESOURCES

Ceiling on Desires should be placed on the 5 resources”  Sai Baba

TIME

Baba suggests how 24 hours a day must be spent

6 hours for individual needs, 6 hours for service to others, 6 hours for sleep and 6 hours for worship.

Time waste is life waste. Avoid the following time wasters:

v     Laziness and sloth, not wanting to work or carrying out one’s responsibility in life.

v     Idle pursuits, gossips, idle talk and entertainment.

v     Oversleeping, day dreaming, negative criticism, complaining, speaking ill of others.

KNOWLEDGE

There are 2 kinds of Knowledge.

One relates to the knowledge of external things; the HEAD manifests this power.

The HEART enables to bring out the inner knowledge.

Knowledge of the physical world through learning of the sciences will remain incomplete unless the divine basis of all objects in creation is understood.

ENERGY

We should avoid wasting water, electricity, petrol and so on, thereby conserving world’s natural resources.

Indulging in bad thoughts, bad looks, bad hearing, bad action and idle talk also wastes energy.

Anger is a big energy waster.

MONEY

Misuse of Money is evil and a sin.

Waste of Money is by:

v       Sense of Sight: We spend because we see advertisements in TV, magazines, etc

v       Sense of hearing: Our spending increases when we hear about goods in radio, friends and neighbours

v       Sense of Smell: We spend on perfumes, food etc

v      Sense of Taste: Our spending rises because of onions being fried, pizza being baked or coffee being brewed

FOOD

Never waste food. By wasting food, you are wasting divine energy.

Excessive food makes the body sluggish.

Save food and distribute to the poor.

Apart from the mouth, food is also taken through the eyes, ears, nose and skin. Use the senses for sacred purposes only.
