Sairam dear brothers and sisters,

Between 12th – 27th July 08, renovation and decoration work will be carried out at our Leicester Sathya Sai School

Need

In particular, we really need aspiring artists and graphic designers or anyone with painting and decorating skills to create pictures that can be made into life-size wall murals for the walls surrounding the car-park, the entrance wall to the school and the entrance staircase to the school. The class rooms also need decorating but this will be more a more straightforward process of painting the walls a single colour rather than creating artwork upon them.

Photographs of the school can be found on the Sai Youth UK Website http://www.saiyouth.org.uk/home.php by accessing the school project page and the the photographs file.

A helpful photo that shows the artwork already done is photograph number 1.51.

Theme of the work

The primary themes to inspire the artwork are:

(i) Sri Sathya Sai Education in Human Values: Love, Truth, Right Conduct, Peace & Non-Violence;

(ii) The Parent-Child-Teacher partnership that nurtures a child in their educational development;

(iii) The inspiration of Nature. As Swami says, 'Nature is the best Teacher.'

How TO HELP?

If you are interested in helping then there are 2 ways in which you can help:

(i) By contributing design/picture ideas via email (see address below) that will form the template for the actual life size murals and/or

(ii) Most crucially, coming down to the school whenever is convenient between 12th July - 27th July to help paint and decorate the walls, entrance staircase and class rooms.

If you are able to help/contribute in anyway then please register your interest by sending an email to saischool@saiyouth.org.uk

If you have any design ideas please email these at the latest by the 7th July to the same email address.

Finally please forward this link to anyone that you feel may be able to help.

With Love and Sairam,
